Glory Days Grill, a Baltimore/Washington regional restaurant chain operating 21 full-service restaurants, was selected by the National Restaurant Association as a winner for the Restaurant Neighbor Award in the state of Maryland. This award speaks volumes to the dedication that Glory Days Grill restaurants have to their local communities. The Restaurant Neighbor Award recognizes a select group of restaurants across the nation for their exceptional participation in fundraising and community outreach. The expanding restaurant company is a five-time repeat winner of this philanthropic award, having earned this distinction in 2003, 2006, 2007, 2008 and again in 2010.

Among the many charitable initiatives and fundraisers that Glory Days Grill participates in, one of the largest of these community outreach programs is the Team Sponsorship Program. Twice a year, Glory Days Grill sponsors hundreds of local sports teams, half of them in the spring and the balance of the teams in the fall season. Each corporate Glory Days Grill restaurant location participates in this program because they value their local community and the myriad sports teams in their surrounding geographical areas.

The Team Sponsorship Program had a significant impact on local communities during 2009. Glory Days Grill sponsored more than 350 teams while contributing over $140,000 last year alone. Utilizing this program, along with their signature fundraising initiative, Dining for Dollars, Glory Days donated over $215,000 to their local communities in 2009. The popular restaurant company is proud to be able to contribute in a significant manner to the communities surrounding each corporate Glory Days Grill location. "As successful as the Team Sponsorship Program has become over the past 14 years, Glory Days Grill anticipates that our philanthropic endeavors should grow significantly larger as the company continues its steady expansion in the Mid-Atlantic region during the coming years." said Jeff Newman, co-founder and president.

Established at Burke Virginia in 1996, Glory Days Grill has been recognized and honored for a variety of charitable contributions and fundraising efforts within their local communities throughout Maryland, Northern and Central Virginia and West Virginia. The restaurant company currently owns and operates 19 corporate locations plus it supports two franchised restaurants in Richmond, VA.
