Fairfax, VA — Glory Days Grill, a regionally owned and operated restaurant chain, held its seventeenth annual golf tournament to benefit the Sunshine Foundation on Thursday, October 28, 2004 at the Bull Run Golf Club in Haymarket, Virginia. The tournament, held from 8 AM to 3 PM, raised more than $10,000, which is an unprecedented achievement in the seventeen-year history of the Glory Days Grill Sunshine Foundation Golf Tournament. The Sunshine Foundation is the original wish granting organization founded in 1976 by former Philadelphia police officer, Bill Sample. Monies raised from the Tournament will fulfill the dreams of seriously ill, physically challenged and abused children, ages 3-21, nationwide.

Said Glory Days Grill Co-Founder, Richard Danker, "We are proud to be associated with the Sunshine Foundation because they help so many children with different needs. We are also very appreciative of the support shown by the golf participants and tournament sponsors, especially our two major sponsors, PalMar Construction and BB&T Bank. Next year's tournament should be even bigger and better so we can keep spreading the sunshine!"

Operating 17 restaurants in four states, Glory Days Grill has been recognized for a variety of charitable contributions and fundraising efforts for the local communities and was a state winner and national finalist for the 2003 Restaurant Neighbor Award sponsored by the National Restaurant Association. Last year alone, the restaurant chain contributed more than $120,000 to the neighborhoods they serve through their Dining for Dollars program, youth and adult team sponsorships and other charitable efforts.

Glory Days Grill is an American grill and bar whose concept launched in Burke, Virginia in 1996. In addition to dine in, Glory Days Grill offers to go services and can accommodate large groups for special occasions.
