Fairfax, VA — Glory Days Grill, a regional restaurant chain, held its nineteenth annual golf tournament to benefit the Sunshine Foundation on Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at the Piedmont Club in Haymarket, Virginia. The tournament raised $35,500, which is an unprecedented achievement in the nineteen-year history of the Tournament and more than double the monies raised in 2005. The Sunshine Foundation is the original wish granting organization founded in 1976 by former Philadelphia police officer, Bill Sample. Monies raised from the Tournament will fulfill the dreams of seriously ill, physically challenged and abused children, ages 3-18, nationwide.

Said Glory Days Grill Co-Founder, Richard Danker, "My family started this tournament 19 years ago, and we are proud to continue our support of the Sunshine Foundation and the many children they serve. We are also very thankful for the support shown by our major sponsors, Coca-Cola, PalMar Construction (Herndon, VA), First Horizon Bank (Tyson's Corner, VA) and US Foodservice, who collectively donated more than $17,000.00. Because of the generosity of our sponsors and participants, we can keep spreading the sunshine!"

The Sunshine Foundation is listed as a top-rated charity on the American Institute of Philanthropy's website, www.charitywatch.org, and 84.9% of funds raised go directly to program services, including the Sunshine Foundation Dream Village in Florida, Progeria Reunions and Sunshine Dreamlifts. Since 1976, the Foundation has expended more than $26.1 million in answering the dreams of more than 31,400 deserving children. For more information, visit www.sunshinefoundation.org.
