Fast-growing casual-dining chain opens second location in Richmond

Fairfax, VA — Northern Virginia based Glory Days Grill, a national restaurant company, signed its first franchisee, DJM Ventures, Inc., which is now licensed to expand operations in the Richmond region. DJM Ventures opened its first unit on March 24, 2003 in the West End at the Gleneagles Shopping Center on Ridgefield Parkway as a joint venture partnership with Glory Days. Based on the success of this first unit, joint venture partner Mark Ferreri and Glory Days Grill co-founders Jeff Newman, Bob Garner and Richard Danker converted the partnership into a franchise relationship. Mark Ferreri will be opening a second franchised unit, and the chain's seventeenth restaurant, on the Southside of Richmond. The Southside restaurant, located at 6151 Harbourside Centre Loop across from Harbour Pointe on Hull Street, is scheduled to open to the public in early September.

Says Mark Ferreri, president of DJM Ventures and a Richmond resident, "We are excited to expand our popular concept of GREAT FOOD and GOOD SPORTS into the Southside of Richmond. Richmond is home to me, and I am proud to bring our concept to another great community." Jeff Newman, co-founder of Glory Days Grill, is confident in the franchise's success, adding "Mark is such a strong operator with proven success in the restaurant industry. We couldn't be more pleased with this venture." Both Richmond locations are open seven days a week, serving lunch Friday, Saturday and Sunday and dinner every day. They feature a full bar, dining room seating for 180, patio seating for 40 and 24 televisions broadcasting the latest in sports, news and entertainment programming.

Glory Days Grill offers a wide variety of freshly prepared foods, including zesty BBQ ribs, grilled marinated chicken, pastas, fresh grilled seafood and generous portions of made-to-order salads. Guests will enjoy the authentic sports memorabilia displayed throughout the restaurant, including many items donated by local teams and schools. Its full-service bar will offer an entire complement of beer, wine, mixed drinks and non-alcoholic beverages. With its unique specialty drinks for children and a relaxed and entertaining atmosphere, Glory Days Grill appeals to families and people of all age groups and interests. This combination of high quality food, spirits and fun has contributed to the company's rapid growth.

The concept has been recognized for a variety of charitable contributions and fundraising efforts benefitting the local communities and was a state winner and national finalist for the 2003 Restaurant Neighbor Award sponsored by the National Restaurant Association. Last year alone, the restaurant chain contributed more than $120,000 to the neighborhoods they serve through their Dining for Dollars program, youth and adult team sponsorships and other charitable efforts.
